The AuroArts Centre

A sacred space for inner discovery, a canvas for community celebration, and a living, breathing centre for conscious, soulful creation.

In the heart of Doddaballapur, where rolling hills embrace lush green valleys, a quiet revolution in conscious learning is taking root. Within the 35-acre eco-campus of Creative School, the AuroArts Centre stands as a vibrant homage to the transformative power of the arts. Auro Art Centre—an immersive, living space where traditional and indigenous arts are practised, and experienced deeply through Sadhana.

The Visual Arts Studios at AuroArts Centre offer a rich and expansive space for learners to explore creativity across mediums. Beginning with the fundamentals—drawing, sketching, painting, the journey evolves into intricate forms like printmaking and murals, while digital art, photography, and screen printing integrate technology into expression. Sculpting in clay, wood, stone, or metal invites exploration of form and space, and pottery deepens tactile connection. Textile arts thrive through macramé, embroidery, knitting, crochet, and diverse weaving techniques. Carpentry, and woodwork nurture functional craftsmanship, while even waste is honoured through papermaking and upcycling, reflecting nature’s wisdom where nothing is discarded and everything has purpose. With visiting artisans, seasonal camps, and exhibitions, the space becomes a living canvas for the evolution of skill, spirit, and self.

The Performing Arts Studios extend this creative ecosystem into sound, movement, and presence. These spaces are built for performances, and for inner transformation. Whether in the quiet discipline of classical Indian dance like Bharatanatyam, the vibrant freedom of tribal and folk forms, or the intuitive flow of creative movement, the body becomes a medium of expression. Music at Auro Art Center flows through diverse traditions—Carnatic, Hindustani, Western classical, tribal, and folk—inviting learners to listen, practice, and offer. Theatre, puppetry, and stagecraft come alive in purpose-built spaces like the amphitheatre, dance studio, and concert hall, designed to blend seamlessly with the land and elevate every performance.

Dhwani and Darpan are the signature celebrations of the AuroArts Centre — vibrant, soulful events that bring together the essence of creativity, community, and conscious living. Darpan, held once in two years, is a two-day immersion into the visual and performing arts, where learners, artisans, and visitors co-create an atmosphere of beauty, expression, and sustainability. Dhwani, a celebration that honours the voice of Indian culture through music, dance, and theatre — blending classical and folk traditions with contemporary forms.

Dhwani 2025, produced by the AuroArts Centre at Creative School, is a celebration of children's learning, expression, and teamwork held on August 15, coinciding with India's Independence Day and Sri Aurobindo's birth anniversary. This year's event features two productions, "Ma Gange" and "The Buddha," The event includes various performances, songs, dances, poetry, cooking, and creative activities like math and tinkering.

Proceeds from the event will support the AuroArts Centre, which nurtures the talents of over 375 children from diverse backgrounds. The AuroArts Centre is a field of possibility. It invites each individual—child or adult, visitor or resident—to create, to express, and to connect. It honours the wisdom of tradition and the spark of innovation. It is where art is not taught but lived. Where beauty is not just admired but embodied. In this space, art is not a subject. It is a way of being.

AuroArts Centre is not just a place to learn art.

It is a sacred space for inner discovery, a canvas for community celebration, and a living, breathing centre for conscious, soulful creation.
